As a firm we are constantly considering our responses to the Covid 19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, receiving advice account from PHE (Public Health England) and the Law Society, and considering what contingency measures we may need to put in place as the situation escalates. Here, we outline how Horwood & James will be working to minimise the risks in relation to Covid-19. This information is to help our clients and anyone wanting to make contact with us.
Our overall approach is to follow the guidance issued by PHE, which can be found using the following link: Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance
The link will also take you to the latest PHE guidance on concerning self-isolation for individuals and households with a possible Covid-19 infection.
Our office remains open and is operating to our usual opening hours (9am-5pm). In order to protect all of our clients and staff, we would ask that meetings are kept to a minimum. Unless strictly necessary, clients will be offered a telephone appointment initially to discuss their matter. Where a face-to-face meeting is essential, we will make arrangements with you.
If clients or visitors do need to attend our office and are suffering from any COVID-19 symptoms, have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms, or have been to any of the high-risk countries recently, they will be asked to postpone any appointment. If not displaying symptoms and have otherwise followed the latest government guidelines, we are respectfully asking that all clients thoroughly wash their hands upon arrival to our offices and a station has been set up for this purpose. We are following advice to not shake hands when meeting clients and so would ask that this be respected and trust no offence will be taken.
This is to protect you, our staff and other visitors to our offices, some of whom may be particularly vulnerable if exposed to Covid-19.
